I love finding new, fabulous Bloggers and a couple of weeks ago Laura of Our Life In The Queen City stopped by to say hello. I've become a huge fan of her site ever since. It doesn't hurt that she & her husband
also live in Charlotte, like us! One of the topics the Laura blogs about each Tuesday is travel,
celebrating your favorite getaway spots, dream vacations or even a new restaurant to try.
Since Jeff & I just got back from a whirlwind weekend in Savannah I'm joining her link-up!

For weeks Jeff led me to believe we were gonna have a fancy dinner out and meet friends at Crave Dessert Bar to celebrate my birthday, which would have been just perfect. Instead last Thursday he surprised me
with two plane tickets to Savannah, GA and a weekend of pampering, fantastic food,
and a moonlit carriage ride. That man of mine is a keeper....
I wish we could've stayed longer! In fact, if I could be anywhere today I'd choose our hotel, The Mansion On Forsyth Park. Jeff really did his homework. The Mansion was modern, opulent, historic, and lavish. Walking into the lobby felt like turning a page in The Great Gatsby.
Our suite was filled with candles, a soaking tub, plush linens, and bold design via an ornate white headboard, crushed velvet sofa & gorgeous art. Not to mention five star dining at 700 Drayton,
a private pool, and luxurious Poseidon Spa. It was sheer bliss!
While Charleston is still and will always be my second home and favorite Southern city, Savannah certainly ranks at the top on my list of getaway destinations.
And there's no other place I'd rather stay than the uber chic, romantic Mansion On Forsyth Park!
When was the last time y'all visited Savannah?
Have you stayed at The Mansion on Forsyth Park before?
Be sure to check out Laura's blog this week & join her link up next Tuesday!

Oh my gosh! The Mansion is where John and I spent our wedding night! We love it! They have such great employees, the spa is divine and so is the food!!
I know you had a great time. Mansion on Forsyth is the sister property of the Bohemian Hotel I featured a month or two ago.
What an amazing gift! Plus I love the idea of Travel Tuesdays! Us Charlotte girls have to stick together. ;)
i've actually never visited Charleston, even though i've lived in the south for 12 years + it's been on my to-visit list forever. my husband + i just talked about going this fall ... finally! =)
and by Charleston, i meant Savannah. whoops, they mentioned Charleston on the news + apparently my mind heard it. ha!
That looks beautiful!
We have been discussing where to stay for our upcoming Savannah girls trip, and we looked at staying here but I think I'd rather save this gem for a trip with CP!
It looks amazing! Thanks for the review!
you're amazing!!! thanks SO much for linking up and for the shout out! xoxo
Aww... that is so sweet!! Looks and sounds like an amazing trip! :)
Do you know I have never been to Savannah or Charleston? I know, that's embarassing!!
I reeeeeeeally want to visit Savannah!
SO pretty! That's one of the vacations on my bucket list :) Looks like y'all had a great trip!
First off, kudos to Jeff for choosing such a romantic getaway locale for you both to enjoy. I have no doubt that you had an absolute blast!!!
Seeing the picture of those pralines makes me think of River Street Sweets—a place Doug and I visited often back when my mother was still a full-time resident of the Coastal Empire.
I don't get back half as often as I'd like, but seeing your snapshots of River Street, Forsyth Park—where I took the cutest photo of my son when he was little—and again those delicious pralines, sure brings back great memories :)
What a fabulous get away. Looks very swanky:) Sound like a great trip!
What a fabulous surprise! This weekend sounds perfect :)
I love Savannah! Since my family lives in HHI, which is only 45 mins away, we take day trips to Savannah when I visit. Such a great city...but I'm with you...it can't top Charleston! Did you get some pralines?
sounds like yal had an amazing trip. It looks beautiful. Jeff did a wonderful job on the surprise and tell him way to go. Im dying to visit I now know where to stay when I do.
Ahhhhh Ally! You have yourself one incredibly sweet hubby. Savannah is such a GORGEOUS place. I lived about an hour away when I was in Charleston, and I swear I only ever made it there once. But it was beautiful. And peaceful.
So sweet! I'm so glad you had a great trip!
