So as of yesterday the fabulous photo editing package most Bloggers use, Picnik, closed.
Since Google announced their plans to put the kibosh on Picnik, I've been searching for an alternative.
And thanks to one of my favorite Blogs, I found it!
Introducing PicMonkey.
I've been playing around with it for a few days and am sold.
It's like Instagram for photo editing.
What I love about PicMonkey: it's free, super simple to use, and loaded with fun effects.
It's no match for Photoshop, but it offers more than Picnik.
It's worth noting though, while PicMonkey offers a completely free service for now,
it will soon operate like Picnik and reserve some functions for premium members.

To help us all get acclimated, one of my fave Bloggers Ashton over at Something Swanky
has been posting cool tutorials to prove just how easy PicMonkey is to use.
Check out her posts: 5 Really Cool Things You Can Do With PicMonkey and
For a snapshot preview of PicMonkey, here are my favorite features thus far:
{One} Drag & Drop
Self-explanatory - just drag & drop your image into PicMonkey and start editing
{Two} Labels
Love these new shapes & editable labels!
{Three} Merge
Finally! PicMonkey provides a way to stick multiple layers together which allows you to move around stickers, labels, text, etc without moving around the entire image. Magic!
There's so much more to PicMonkey and I think y'all will love it as much as I do!
Be sure to visit the site, play around with the features and
stop by Something Swanky for Ashton's great tutorials!
So what do you think?
And what imaging package are you turning to now that Picnik has closed?
Have a fabulous weekend y'all!

I need to check Picmonkey out. Thanks for the heads up!
I'll have to check that out! It looks like it has some really cool features :) Thanks for sharing Ally!! and Happy Friday!
I thought I was going to cry when I heard Picnik was closing. Thank you for sharing this new site. Hope you have a great weekend!
i used it for the first time yesterday for my pics in my post today - i thought it was great!
I've used PicMonkey a few times myself. I like it. I did log onto Picnik this morning to see if they were in fact closing or if it was really some sort of bad joke. (A girl with a blog can hope, right?) The site was still up so the collage I used in my post today (the 20th) came from Picnik. But alas... I checked later and they were gone. So glad to see there are other east sites out there to use.
Good to know. Thanks for this because I will bookmark it and come back to it once I have time to learn something new. It's nice to have a collage option. Have a great weekend.
I was so upset when picnik was closing but and didnt know what I was going to do but I have since then been using picmonkey and thing I like it better because it is totally free and I used to pay at picnik for the ultimate package. Thanks goodness we have something to replace picnik with or I would go insane trying to figure out photoshop

Ah! I'm so excited! I have been a little freaked out since the "ants started invading" picnik. This is wonderful! I'll go check out Ashton's tutorial and then head to play on PicMonkey. You've made my day and saved me some serious photo editing searching time! Thanks so much.
Happy seeing beautiful!
