Mangia Monday: Super Bowl Party Menu

The Garner household is not only divided for college football season, but for NFL teams too. We've only got eyes for Falcons (moi) and Saints (husband). So we really don't have a dog in this hunt. But any excuse to watch the last iota of football for 6 months and throw a homegating party, right? In lieu of my usual Mangia Monday post, I thought I'd share our Super Bowl Party Menu and recipe ideas for your gameday!
Feast your eyes y'all:

Now if none of those options tickle your fancy, you can always peruse our tailgate menus on the
Southern Fried Football tab or check out my SEC Gamedays pinboard. But the first place you should look for fabulous party food recipes is always Sarah Sprague's site, aka The Starter Wife.
Nobody does Gameday food better than Sarah. Her Super Bowl pinboard is full of incredible eats,
but be sure to look through the tabs of her site as well.

So who are y'all pulling for this Sunday? I'm taking the Giants only because the 1 UGA former player
(RB Danny Ware) in the SB is toting the rock for New York. And what delish party food will you
be serving for the big game?

I hope everybody has a terrific week :) Mangia Mangia y'all!

What a great menu! I'm with you, I'm not really cheering for either team but I think I'll be rooting for the Giants because I know my cousin is a fan. Hey, whatever works right? Have a great Monday!

Erin, Brittany & Kelly: Happy Monday to y'all too! Thanks for the comments Ladies :)

As always, your posts leave my tummy grumbling! I may have to try one of these desserts! It'll just be us, but we still try to cook in the Super Bowl style. I have an appetizer I always make that I'll be posting on Friday!

Ally Garner said...

Amy: Ooh, a traditional Super Bowl appetizer? That means it must be amazing! Looking forward to seeing that recipe on Friday :)

i can't wait to hear how those scallion meatballs are - i've had them bookmarked, but still haven't gotten around to trying them. i'll be traveling for work, getting home just about an hour before the Superbowl, so this is the first year we won't be hosting a party. i can't lie - i'm sort of looking forward to a low-key Superbowl, just lounging on the couch with the husband + pupster! =)

Ally Garner said...

Amy: I made them on Saturday for a test run & they lived up to their billing. The glaze was a perfect sweet & sour mix, but the scallions made them. Incredible flavor! You'll love them. Travel safe doll. Hope your hometown team wins :)

Cake batter dip? O-M-G!

All of this sounds so wonderful. We are having Buffalo Chicken Sliders, a mac and Cheese bar, Corona Cupcakes, and PB Bars. Of course there will be various beers and dips, too.

Um can I come to your house for the game??? I am indifferent on who wins. Didn't we already see this game in 2008? Bo-ring!

Ally Garner said...

Kristin: Right? I don't know what it is about raw batter, but it's delish. Salmonella not included ;)

Mandi: A mac & cheese bar?? That's brilliant. And please tell me you'll be posting your recipe for Corona cupcakes sometime soon. That sounds amazing. Hope y'all have a great party!

Ashley: Any time doll! Hop on a plane for Charlotte, we'd love to have you! Y'all can watch the game and I'll entertain cutie Thatcher :) Agreed - it's a rematch. Those were my thoughts about the Bama / LSU mnc game too. Been there, done that. This is also why I hate playoffs - the Giants are 9-7 and playing in the Super Bowl. Ridiculous.

Hi, Ally!
What a terrific menu! I think I am most obsessed with the spicy maple pecans, cucumber feta rolls and the fruit salsa with baked cinnamon chips!

Speaking of salsa! I saw your guest post over on sarahsprague.com!! :) That guacamole recipe sounds AMAZING! It is one of my favorite treats. I definitely plan on making this soon!

Happy Monday,
Christi

So many good ideas! I don't know where to start!

Good afternoon from L.A.!

Gosh Ally, I wouldn't know where to begin...it is all so delicious looking. Even if we're not pulling for either team like we would the Saints, these foods alone would give us reason to host a gathering! have a wonderful week!

Warmly,

Elizabeth

PS~I've never tried the pistachio by Ciao Bella, but on your recommendation I certainly will now!

Ally Garner said...

Christi: Those are 2 ofmy faves on this menu as well. The cucumber feta rolls are so incredibly good. I'm hoping those & the salsa will balance out some of the hot on the menu. Yes - I submitted the guac recipe that Amy of Fearless Homemaker made. We loved it at tailgates this season! So when Sarah started her guac series, I had to submit it. All credit goes to Amy, though. It's divine - you should try it!

Southern Hostess: Thanks so much, girl! Might I suggest you start with the Krispy Kreme cupcakes or the scallion meatballs. You just can't go wrong with either, haha :)

Ally Garner said...

Elizabeth: I know, it's not as fun without our teams in the game, that's for sure. Thanks for the sweet comment, though! And yes, you must try the pistachio, it's so good. I bet Miss M would love that flavor as well. let me know what y'all think! :)

Have a terrific week Ladies - thank you all for the lovely comments!

It sounds like a wonderful menu

Fantastic menu. It all looks fabulous. Thank you for the foodie inspiration. Just came across your blog and love it.

Ally Garner said...

Steph: Thanks so much for the sweet compliments! I'm so glad you stopped by and love the Football Foodie inspiration :)

Everything looks so tasty - I want to be invited to your party! I don't care for sports, but I'd love to eat all this food. ;-)

Ally Garner said...

Mary Ann: Thank you! You are most definitely invited, doll. If you're in Charlotte, come on by! :)

Megan @ Culinary Chops said...

Ally, all these recipes look so incredibly delicious! So glad to see that you're going to try the fruit salsa! I REALLY love this recipe; it's super easy to execute and stores well for a few days if you have leftovers. You'll have to let me know what you think!

I must admit that, being a UT fan, I love to see a Manning do well. On the flip side, the teenage girl in me thinks Tom Brady is incredibly handsome! Seeing as both of those comments are extremely superficial and frivolous, I'll have to say that I don't really care who wins!

But who doesn't love a good football game???

Ally Garner said...

Megan: Oh the fruit salsa is a fave in our house. We've made it several times & it's actually appeared on one of the Southern Fried Football menus before. You're right - the flavors marry overnight & that just makes even more delicious.

Ditto - can't pass up the last chance to watch football! :)
