Fab Finds Friday: Valentine's Edition

Have you noticed the ever growing number of people that grumble about Valentine's Day? I swear it gets worse every year. Call me crazy, but I love getting sweet cards, presents, chocolate & a night of romance with my guy! More importantly, I love an extra excuse to show friends & family how much I love them.
So since the big day is just 2 weeks away, I thought I'd post some
sweet inspiration for making Feb 14th fun & special this year!

Instead of picking up a drugstore card, why not go for something unique, vintage, and hand made
like these darling cards from artists on Etsy. Here's their entire Valentine's collection,
which includes some fabulous gift & party ideas as well! And if you're in need of sweet nothings to pen, a quote from Voltaire, Keats, Lord Byron or Beethoven is always a lovely touch.

What's better than pretty, pink lingerie for Valentine's Day? It's the gift that keeps on giving ;) And the new line from Victoria's Secret has everything from comfy sleepwear to cute, girly intimates. Love it!

Nothing says Valentine's Day quite like sparkly jewelry, right?
These are just a few darling little baubles sure to make any girl's wish list!

There's no such thing as too many sweets on the sweetest day of the year! And these special treats
are just a few ideas for whipping up something scrumptious for the object of your affection.

Why go out to a crowded theater when you can cuddle up on the couch and watch a classic romantic movie. Everybody's seen the greats like Casablanca, An Affair To Remember, and Gone With The Wind so try something new! Three of my favorites are shown above, but some other fantastic options are:
The Philadelphia Story, The Thin Man, Doctor Zhivago, Notorious, Ball Of Fire, and Adam's Rib. Any of these would make for a perfect Valentine's night in.

And if that isn't enough inspiration to get you excited about celebrating Valentine's Day, check out my cupid & hearts filled pinboard. It's packed full of holiday recipes, outfit inspiration, gift and party ideas!
Also, The Nest has a sweet gift guide out for the special man in your life.
So what little presents are you dreaming about for the 14th? And what special plans are you making?
Have a terrific weekend y'all!

Great Valentine's day post, Ally! Your Saint Valentine board is filled with AMAZING ideas! :)

I am eager to rent one of the three movies you listed. I haven't seen any of those!

MD and I usually go out for a nice dinner the Saturday before Valentine's day, and then stay in the evening of the sweet holiday. We would both rather not squirm through the crowds, and instead enjoy each other's company in our own home. Luckily, MD is a great cook and always has a delicious menu planned for us to enjoy.

I always take care of the dessert. I've always wanted to try decorating cookies with Royal icing, but seem to talk myself out if it for fear of total failure. ;) But, I can't think of a cuter dessert than those conversation heart sugar cookies!

I hope you and your hubs have a super sweet day!

xo,
Christi

Mary Ann: Me too! I saw those studs ruby rhinestone on Bauble Bar last month & they've been on my wish list ever since. They're cute, right?!

I fancy myself a classic film lover, but I haven't seen any of the three favorites you recommended, so they are now all three on my Netflix list!

Ginger: Oh you will LOVE The Clock - it's Judy Garland at her best. SHe doesn't sing, so it's just all acting talent. And you must see Bogart with his real life love Bacall. To Have And Have Not has 1 of the sexiest scenes in all of cinema, with no sex. Lastly, Barbara Stanwyk in Meet John Doe is just splendid. She's such a diva - I love it! If you watch any of them you must let me know what you think! Hope you had a great weekend Ginger - and thank you for stopping by :)
