We are less than 24 hours away from the best Holiday of the year, in my opinion: Thanksgiving! No presents to buy, no rushing, and no chaos. Awesomesauce. It's just a day of worship, family fun, football, and amazing food. I shudder to think about the calories I'm going to consume Thursday. Between the fried turkey, dressing, twice baked potatoes, buttery yeast rolls, pecan pie, and a zillion appetizers it'll be a miracle if I don't fall into a tryptophan /starch-induced food coma! But Thanksgiving is not a day to count calories, unless of course you're just a glutton for punishment. Literally.

So instead of piling on the guilt after piling on that extra helping of mac & cheese, get a workout in before the feast! I blogged last Sunday about Daily Vitamin F's Thanksgiving challenge: a virtual 5K. It's simple, just workout at least 3.1 miles Thursday, in whatever form you want (run, swim, bike, hike, walk, etc) and enter DVF's contest for fabulous prizes. But the best prize is fitting into your pants on Friday :)

Since Jeff & I will be in my hometown for Thanksgiving, we're running the TreesGreenville Turkey Trot 8K tomorrow morning with my brother, my Mom, and some friends. Afterall, family competition is what the Holidays are all about, right?

So who's joining us in Daily Vitamin F's Virtual 5K? And what are y'all doing to celebrate Thanksgiving? Tell me your plans and what's on the menu y'all!

How fun! An awesome run will just make Thanksgiving dinner all the better. And hey, are those the shows you have? I have those, too! I got them only a week before the Disneyland Half Marathon and they felt amazing even with the minimal breaking-in. Anyway, Happy Thanksgiving Ally :)

Good luck running the Turkey Trot 8K! (I've never actually heard of an 8K, so cool.)

I plan to eat 'til it's ugly on Thursday, as well! And I, too, love the family time that Thanksgiving brings.

On a REALLY RANDOM side note. I used to work for the company that makes the ball cap you listed. The Game. There headquaters is in little ol' Phenix City, AL. http://www.2thegame.com/ I can recognize a bar cap from a mile away.

Enjoy your holiday!

Good luck! I think my dad and a few friends are running that race tomorrow! I have no plans to exercise ;) Happy Thanksgiving, Ally!

Isabel: Yep, I love my 3030's. I usually don't race in Asics, but I just got these a few weeks back and my feet love them :) Great minds think alike! Happy Thanksgiving to you too, doll.

Winda: Thank you for the lovely comment. Hope you have a blessed Thanksgiving!

Beth: Yeah, I usually only see 8Ks for Trail runs. It is a little unusual for a street run. I'm dying laughing over "I plan to eat 'til it's ugly" hahaha!! Amen girl, me too :) And yes, i LOVE Bar caps - they're the only ones that really fit my head & they're always so cute. That's so cool that you used to work there!

Amy: Thanks doll! I wish I knew what your Dad looks like, I'd stop over and say hello!! Love this: "I have no plans to exercise" haha! I don't blame you :) I hope the Bennett family has a terrific & blessed Thanksgiving as well!
