In the South, getting married on a Saturday during football season is a sin. A cardinal sin. But when it's family, and the wedding party gets gifted with tickets to the Bama-Arkansas game, all is forgiven. Jeff's cousin is finally getting married Saturday at noon in Birmingham! I say finally because he's 36 and has happily played the role of Alabama's most eligible bachelor for years until he met his sweet someone last June. She really knocked his socks off, let me tell you. They're a fun couple that wanted to incorporate their big day with their big Alabama fandom. So in lieu of a major reception Saturday, they're taking their wedding party to the Bama game instead. Pretty cool, huh?

I wish I had a picture of the crimson bridesmaids' dresses, because they are truly spectacular. Perfect for heading from the ceremony to the stadium! Those of us not in the wedding party are still wearing Gameday attire though...minus the Alabama cheek tattoo, of course. My dress isn't as pretty as the Bridal Party togs, but I fell head over heels in lurve with this darling houndstooth sheath from ModCloth & had to have it! See that's the great thing about being a Southern football fan. Our Gamedays are the social events of the season - we can go from wedding guest to tailgate in the same outfit haha!

So what are y'all up to this weekend? And who are you picking to win this big SEC showdown, Alabama or the Hogs? It should come as no surprise I'm sticking with family loyalty and calling this one for the Crimson Tide. And as a Falcons fan I'm looking forward to yelling the Rammer Jammer cheer at slimy Bobby Petrino ;)

Roll Tide Roll!!

Megan: I didn't know y'all were going to this game! I can't wait. I'll miss seeing UGA beat the Rebel/Bears (praying), but this game is THE game of the weekend. Hope Bama wins big!

Brittany: Thanks doll! Roll Tide indeed :)

That sounds like a pretty amazing wedding day to me :) When I first started reading your blog and following you on Pinterest, I was baffled by the game-day outfits the game-day outfits you posted, but now I'm in love with the thought of getting all gussied up to go watch a football game!

I love the wedding then the game what a great combo!
Love your look and I think you are going to be one hot rocking chick!
Husband's cousin is a Razorback fan and I of course am a fan of Sabans Tide so we will see who gets bragging rights. Roll that Ride and rock that look girl. Cant wait to get all the details!
Im ready for all these birthday parties to get out of my weekend plans so I can enjoy a game. What is wrong with these crazies planning parties right in the middle of game time?

Petrino can stick it, ROOOOLLLLLLL TIDE!

I must say, Ally, you do have some of the best fashion sense—I could Pinterest every outfit you share on this delightful blog of yours, girl. Love. It.

Weekend plans for moi include spending some much-needed time alone with the hubby and baking some goodies for the mom-in-law's Women's Day program at church.

Have fun in B'ham :)

Isabel: Haha! One of my best friends freshman year at Georgia was from Michigan and she was like you - baffled that we were getting dressed up for Gamedays. You're gonna have to take a mini-vaca and come to a UGA game (or any SEC game) just once to experience the parties, tailgates, the fashion & the games. We don't exaggerate when we say it's the social event of the season. You'd LOVE it!!

Kelli: If it's not a wedding, it's a Birthday party getting in the way of Gamedays, haha. I bet y'all will have a great time though - I know the kids will! Fingers crossed Bama pulls off a win!! :)

Kim: You are the sweetest. Thank you! I hope you give us a weekend recap on Living Fit Mommy - I want the recipe for whatever sweet you're baking! And I hope you and the hubs have a great weekend together :)

That houndstooth is so adorable! Is it wrong that I would marry a southern boy based on his school colors/patterns? Because I would totally be willing to do that if it meant I could wear cute dresses like this all the time :)

This is hysterical! My oldest cousin is getting married the first weekend in October. With her soon-to-be husband an avid LSU fan (while the rest of her family cheers for UT), choosing the wedding weekend was a super tough decision. Sadly, she chose a UT game day....so I'm sure I'll find my brother holed in a room somewhere trying to watch the game AND enjoy the party.

This wedding sounds like a blast!

Kelly: Haha! No, that is not terrible at all. I actually think that's a brilliant plan. I never thought I'd marry outside my fandom, but I'm thankful my husband's alma mater shares the same color scheme haha :)

Megan: Oh wow, she's really pushing it to get married in October in the middle of SEC play. Don't tell me it's the 3rd Sat (UT-Bama game)? And yeah, i hope your cousin is prepared for her guests to break out in spontaneous song with Rocky Top after every score haha :)

Amy: Thanks girl! The wedding should be a lot of fun - these 2 love football more than Jeff & I do, if you can believe that. I hope you have an incredible weekend too. Btw, I pointed my Mother-in-law to your site last night after telling her ab your yukon & sweet potato gratin. She loves that recipe!

Beth: Thanks so much Beth! RTR :)
