Butter London - Blowing Raspberries

Am I the only one who buys a pair of shoes & a handbag first, then finds the dress to go with the accessories? No? Okay good. Seriously though, I do this all. the. time. I fell in love with these knockout midnight blue pumps, then found the Anjli clutch, and then searched the longest for a dress to make an outfit. Completely backwards & ridiculously time consuming I know, but that's just how I roll.
No matter though, this wedding Jeff & I are attending on Saturday is well worth a treasure hunt for a dress. One of my oldest & dearest friends, Leslie, is finally getting married!! I'm so over-the-moon happy for her. Let me tell you about Leslie. When I was the new girl in middle school after moving to South Carolina from NC, she was my first new friend. She let me in her circle of girls, hooked up my wardrobe, got me involved in cheerleading, and generally made sure that I fit in. Les was just an angel to me, always has been. And even though we weren't as close while away at separate colleges, she always found a way to keep in touch. So I was beyond thrilled when she met her handsome prince Thomas a couple of years ago. They're finally gettin' hitched Saturday night in our hometown with a swanky bash to follow and I cannot wait to be there!
So what are all of you lovelies doing this weekend? And give me your honest opinions please about mixing the midnight blue pumps & clutch with the emerald dress. I know it's a tad bold, and i'm a little on the fence about it honestly. But i'm so tired of wearing nude heels and just wanted a pop of jewel toned color. What do you think - would you wear it?

love those shoes!
I'll tell you this much, I'd wear those heels with a pair of jean shorts...and I don't even WEAR jean shorts. Those pumps are KILLER, OMG, I love, love, love them.
Are you stretching it a touch with the emerald, I don't think so. I think matchymatchy can be a bit much. It's nice to mix a bit, particularly if you're wearing accessories that pick up the tones of whatever you're wearing.
You definitely have a good eye for fashion, girl, so trust your instincts on this one.
Rock it!
Thanks Amy! I agree :)
Kim - thanks doll! Now i don't feel so bad for working backwards on putting it together haha.
I have shoes but no outfits so I don't think you are crazy I think you are just simply a girl who like myself admires shoes and more shoes. My handbags are crazy too. I always know what handbag or shoes to wear but never what outfit because I have a shortage when it comes to those combing.
P.S. Im LOVING the shoes~ You go rock them babies!!!
love love love this outfit - i think the shoes + dress work perfectly together. i like!
Kelli - Haha! Love it! We're cut from the same cloth. Maybe we should share closets, swapping out dresses to match all our shoes & handbags :)
Amy - Awesome! Thanks Mrs. Fashionista Super Model - i'm good if it has your seal of approval ;)
I am not bold by nature so I personally would not wear it BUT I say rock it. If you feel good, then you look good. I have heard that several times and it's true. If it feels like you and you like it, you can get away with it. It's when people are wearing things that they don't feel good in that becomes a problem.
And I love me a pair of good shoes, so not weird to buy those and accessorize around them!
Thanks so much doll for your thoughts! You all have given me lots to thinks about. And, you're right. It is a tad bold and not something i normally do either. I've put it on and walked around the house so much in it my hubby thinks i'm nuts haha. A thousand bucks says this will be a gametime decision ;)
