Bet 'ya can't guess where i'm going this weekend! I know, it's a real mystery. In a little more than 48 hours the hubby & I will be making our way down to the Emerald Coast (aka Destin, Florida) for the annual Garner family beach week. It's the last vacation of the summer and i'm milking it for all it's worth. I plan on doing nothing but parking my fanny in the sand with my sister-in-law & mother-in-law, spoil my nephews rotten, and send all of our men off to play golf. There will be lots of cooking Mediterranean-style seafood dishes, daily sangria consumption, sleeping in until whenever, and possibly some shopping. But most of the time you can bet my daily wardrobe will consist of nothing but the above: my new bikinis (how cute are those btw), a big beach hat, and flippy floppies. Glorious! In fact, I may not come back....

So what are y'all doing this weekend? And what are your beach essentials?

we go to Seaside (not far from Destin) with my husband's family every Thanksgiving week. it's still over three months away - i wish i had a beach trip planned this weekend! love the Guess bikini + floppy hat, by the way!

Oh then y'all are gulf-front too. My inlaws' home is gulf-front as well. Nice-Seaside is so pretty & such a sweet comunity. Y'all are too far from us at all! Wish y'all were gonna be there next week - we could hang out, cook & be lazy together. My MIL would L-O-V-E you and your passion for cooking that's for sure.

Perfect, loving the yellow bikini with the turquoise cover-up! I can't remember exactly, but I think I have those flip flops in black, haha. Sounds like an amaaazing weekend that can't arrive soon enough! - Isabel

The yellow Guess bikini is popular. I bought a yellow polka dot bikini from Victoria's Secret that my hubs loved too. Yellow seems to be the "it' color at the moment.

Yes - i can't wait, thanks! Hope your move is going well & you're getting settled in & organized Isabel :)

We are headed over there next week - cannot wait! We hang out along 30A. Pure heaven.

Kristin - Destin's gorgeous - white sandy beaches, gulf shore, just awesome. I would say y'all should vaca there, but Costa Rica is waaaay better! ;)

Happyiness - Ditto girl! I'm counting down the hours ;) 30A is a long stretch - are y'all down towards Panama City or more towards Destin? I hope you take some great pics with your new camera. I bet Thatcher is gonna love playing in the sand! Y'all have a great trip!

"She wore an itsy bitsy, teeny-weeny, yellow polka dot bikini..." You knew I couldn't resist!

I love the bikinis and those sandals are just lovely—you do know how to dress for success and sun girl!

No big plans for me this weekend, the kiddies start school in the A.M. so it's back to carpools, PTO, and soccer mommy stuff for me.

Have loads of fun in Destin this next week, but you must come back, whatever would I do without Mangia Mondays :)

Aww Ally
You're a doll! Just found your blog! I'm heading to Destin this weekend too. (From Indiana though)
Then my family is going to PCB for the rest of the week.
Enjoy your last vacay!

Kim: hahaha! I've been singing that tune myself. The kids are starting school already?? Wow, that seems so early. I'll be thinking of you tomorrow morning. I know it's going to be so tough especially seeing your baby girl start school for the first time :( I hope they both have a blast!!

Wanda: Thank you so much for stopping by & leaving a comment! That's so sweet of you. And i hope you & your family have a fabulous time at the beach next week. Fingers crossed for perfect weather!

Her outfit is picked and pressed, lunch is on the counter, bookbag is packed and at the ready, and mommy's hiding the Kleenex for after the drop-off. This moment is hers to shine, I won't ruin it with my heavy hearted tears.

Thank you so much for the kind support as I will
definitely be needing every ounce by the time I steal one last "have a great day" kiss and send her off on this next journey.

Kim, you are such a great Mom. I know she's going to love school and making new friends. And i know eventually you're going to love having a few hours to yourself to recharge & hopefully relax for a bit. Wishing the Nash family a FANTASTIC new day tomorrow ;)

We are closer to Panama City (near Rosemary). I am so excited to use my camera OUTSIDE. It is so hard to shoot manual indoors!

Oh Rosemary is a gorgeous beach. Lots of really beautiful homes over there! Can't wait to see your pics. I know they're gonna be a heckuva lot better than mine haha.
