As most of y'all are surely aware SEC Media Days kicked into high gear yesterday. Seriously, my day at work was shot from 1pm onward. I even told my CEO that my agenda was wrecked because i was intermittently looking in on all the action. His reply: "What's the SEC?" I damn near fainted, then had to remind myself he's British. But yeah, we're totally indoctrinating him into the glory that is an SEC football game this season. You can't live in the South and not experience it at least once. Afterall, Prince Charles attended a UGA game and so should Henry (boss). Maybe this morning i should start the education process by letting him watch the delicious insanity that is Media Days. Or maybe i should just start from the beginning and let Andy Griffith explain the game of football...
Brilliant, right? I've probably heard that bit a thousand times and i still split my side from laughing so hard. I can't put my finger on just one thing about this game that has us all so obsessed, so to outsiders i know we look crazy. All i do know is that from the time i was born, next to God and my family, Georgia football in all it's storied history, tradition, and fanfare has captivated my attention and passion. Most fans of other SEC teams will tell you something similar. It's just a way of life down South and it's fabulous!
Speaking of SEC fabulosity, i'll leave you with this last piece of football goodness. In case you missed it yesterday, ESPN's 30 for 30 series is creating 4 one-hour documentaries on the Southeastern Conference starting, of course, with the legendary athletic beast that is Herschel Walker. Mark your calenders, it airs September 7th, 8pm est on ESPNU. According to the article, which you should seriously read, this piece isn't just about Herschel's prowess on the gridiron and appeals to every fan of sports. Check out this clip:
"My body's the Army, my mind's the General." Herschel Walker

I just realized last night that we no longer get ESPNU. Clearly this is a situation that will need to be resolved before the Herschel special + football season!
Oh no! I'll be honest, i never watch ESPNU except for on Signing Day and if UGA is playing on that channel, which has been rare. But i can't miss this Herschel special. That preview gave me goosebumps. Can't wait!!
OMG!!!!!! That looks sooooo good. I've often told people that I truly believe Herschel could suit up right now and tear a hole in the SEC. Talk about a guy who epitomizes what it means to both wear the 'G' and love it—that's Herschel.
Can't wait to see this one, Ally. Wow! I think I may have to steal this for my site today—with a big hat tip to you, of course :) Thanks, girl!
I know right? Saturday Down South tweeted that piece out yesterday & it spread like wildfire, as you can imagine. Absolutely, post it on your blog!! I doubt most of Bulldawg Nation has seen it and they surely read your blog more than mine. Don't worry about giving me a shout out though, i think i caught it on the 8th retweet haha! So glad you liked it doll :)
Ally, I've seen the Amy's burritos at almost every major store--Kroger, Target, Walmart, Whole Foods. I bet Publix has them too. They are delicious!
