Fab Finds Friday: 5 Things I'm Obsessing Over

Happy Friday y’all! A 4 day Holiday work week is supposed to fly by, but not so for this chick. I’ve been busier than a one-armed paper hanger. *Bonus points for the first commenter who knows from which movie that line was uttered* So, without further gabbing, here’s the latest goodies atop my lust list:

My new Toms finally arrived! I got these cuties in the summery yellow seersucker, but adore the coral ones too. And how pretty is that Kenyan stripe wedge? If you’re not familiar with Toms, they’re an amazing company. For every pair of shoes you buy, they donate a pair to a child in need. Check out their mission here. Not only are they serving others in need, but they make cute, comfortable shoes that won’t break the bank. Seriously, what’s not to love?! Check them out, and pass the word on to your friends & family as well.

Gawkerverse. I hate to refer to this most awesomesauce of sites as a time suck because it’s so much more than that, but yeah it’s a total time sucker. This is the ultimate site for Tumblrs and Pinterest lovers. It’s essentially a collection of photo galleries showcasing creative, inspiring images from bloggers & sites across the web in 4 categories: foodgawker, dwellinggawker, craftgawker, and (my fave) weddinggawker. Even if you’re not pinning, Gawkerverse is still so much fun and a great resource for foodies, crafters, travelers, home decor lovers and those about to say I do. It’s also a great way to find new bloggers on topics you love. Just click the photos and get connected to new spaces. Pretty sweet!

Bauble Bar. I heard rumblings about this dreamy site from Gadabout a few weeks back, but finally signed up myself this week after finding a lovely ring i’m coveting. Here’s the deets: Bauble Bar is the hot spot for upscale fashion jewelry at phenomenal prices with big customer bonuses attached. You earn points for every purchase you make & points for every purchase someone you’ve invited makes as well. And those points can be used to purchase free baubles (you heard me) from their vaunted “Vault.” Glorious! My fave part of the site is how meticulously it’s organized. I can easily find a piece that i’m looking for without searching hours in boutiques or on the web. Oh, and did i mention that all orders over $30 (and returns) ship free? Again i say Glorious! Might wanna pass this site along to your significant others for Holidays, anniversaries, visits to the dog house, etc.

I’m kicking myself for not hopping on this bandwagon sooner, but i’m finally aboard the Threading craze. I tagged along to a Threading Salon here in Charlotte with 2 of my best girls on Tuesday and was wowed! If done properly, threading is very precise & assures the perfect brow to suit your face shape. Unlike waxing & tweezing, it doesn’t pull at the skin or irritate, so no more painful red spots.  It’s also nearly pain-free. I barely felt it! Big plus: Threading is the most hygienic hair removal process available since there are no chemicals or reusable tools involved. From what i gather, Threading is supposed to last 4-6 weeks, like waxing, and is typically the same cost (i paid $20). Rest assured, this girl will never tweeze or wax my eyebrows again. My best advice: if you decide to try it be sure to find a reputable salon, not some mall-strip shop on every corner.

Don’t let anyone fool you, the best part about working out isn’t the better body you gain, the burned fat you lose, or the surge of endorphins. It’s all about the cute workout gear. *Kidding* But kinda not. Actually, i love new workout togs! And for my birthday i used some gift cards i received to add onto my summer training wardrobe. After taking a few years off, i’m back into US Masters Swim this summer, in addition to running a few trail races and doing my usual yoga/power pilates/Pure Barre. If we’re gonna sweat our fannies off, we might as well look good doing it, right Ladies? So here are my latest crushables:
1. I won’t bore you with all the technical deets about this suit, but suffice it to say i love my new TYR Maxback. Speedo may have a cuter designs, but TYR makes a better daily workout swimsuit. Always. And as far as training swimwear goes, this is about as chic as one can expect.
2. Garmin Forrunner 305 - Only folks at NASA or gadget gurus like my hubby know how to work half the stuff on this watch, but it’s pretty right? What i love about it is it’s GPS capabilities for offroad trail runs, the heart rate monitor and the Garmin Connect feature that allows me to track my training progress.
3. If you follow me on twitter you probably saw me tweet about my new Vibrams. Don’t laugh, these mothers are awesome! I’m not a minimalist freak, but i love the traction, versatility & performance. I can wear these not only on trail runs, but in yoga, Pure Barre, Krav Maga, or white water rafting this summer. They offer the best of both worlds: the barefoot run experience & foot protection. Love ‘em!
4. Lululemon. Swoon. I’m a big fan of Brooks & Asics running gear, but for all-sport, cute workout digs, Lululemon is my fave. In the summer months especially, i run a lot at night, much to my hubby’s chagrin. <<No worries-He & Bailey dog go with me>> So the Light Up Tank was a must have. Of course, i got  it in pink! And my ultimate fave running short is their Run: Speed. Lightweight + wicking + comfy waist = happy.

So there you have it-that’s this week’s Fab 5. Let me know what you think & tell me about what you’re crushing on lately too. Have a great weekend y'all!

So much to comment on!

1) I've toyed with the idea of buying TOMS, and I want some new wedges for summer. There's my solution!

2)Thanks for telling us about Gawkerverse. There goes my afternoon.

3)I've been curious about threading...my eyebrows are looking rough. I haven't had them professionally waxed since the wedding. I keep telling myself full eyebrows are in(Thanks, Princess Kate).

4)I've though about a Garmin, but my running habit is so inconsistent I'm afraid it would be a waste. Maybe it can be a reward if I keep the habit up for a certain period of time.

Have a good weekend!

I thought about you actually when i found Gawkerverse! I bet you'll love the Weddinggawker as much as i do :)

Great idea about rewarding yourself w/ a Garmin. And you should look into refurbs as well. Several of my friends got the pink & gray Forerunner 110 as a refurb for dirt cheap!

Have a great weekend Lauren!
